  2. Ecological effects of biodiversity (Biodiversity 🦗)

The diversity of species and genes in ecological communities affects the functioning of these communities. These ecological effects of biodiversity in turn are affected by both climate change through enhanced greenhouse gases, aerosols and loss of land cover, and ...

RT @barragan_lanuza It took very long and a lot of effort but finally is out! "Covariation among reproductive traits in flowering plants shapes their interactions with pollinators" doi.org/10.1111/1365-2435.1434

    , what a team!

  19. Oh, that was fantastic! Thanks, Virginia, for sharing your cool results on how tripartite interaction #networks are structured and how their structure links to #robustness. Traditionally, ecologists have studied networks that contain only one single type of interaction, such as food webs or pollination webs. Your work points towards the future by looking at 2 interaction types in concert! I'm impressed!

  22. #introduction

I'm a post-doc trying to understand the vegetated land surface through space and time.

My research touches areas of ecology, biogeography, functional traits & diversity, ecosystem fun., and veg. modelling.

I aim to disentangle interactions between functional diversity and ecosystem function using #ecoevo vegetation models (aDGVM2, LPJ-GUESS-NTD).

  24. #Introduction

#AssistantProfessor at U. of North Texas #UNT. I study #BehavioralEcology (#BehaviouralEcology) and #CommunityEcology with #insect #pollinators. My lab focuses on how #GlobalChange affects pollinator communities and the interactions within those communities, including #bee #foraging behavior.

Current projects study pollinators in #rangeland and #SocialInformation use across insect functional groups. Also collaborating with #TPWD to assess #conservation status of TX #NativeBees.

    👋 I am a senior research assistant in the #Altermatt_lab at #University_of_Zurich and #Eawag.

My research focuses on #amphipods, their #diversity and #distribution, both in epigean and subterranean #ecosystems. I combine field data and laboratory experiments to study the influence of connectivity on #diversity and the role of #amphipods for #ecosystem functioning in #freshwater.

  26. #introduction 👋

I am a junior research group leader for #ecoevo #modelling at the University of Hohenheim in Germany.

We study all kinds of #EcologicalNetworks. We want to know how such networks are structured, how they maintain their balance and how they respond to #globalchange. We approach these questions from a theoretical point of view, using computer simulations and mathematics.
