I've been kicking around the idea of a community built around belonging, curiosity, service, and genuine connection. A place where people can gather regularly, hear someone's story or learn something new, have thoughtful conversations over coffee, and build real friendships. Then once a month, instead of just talking about making our community better, we'd go volunteer or work on a local service project together.
Not a church. Not an anti-church. Not a political group.
Just neighbors creating the kind of community many of us wish we had.
Being based in Liberty, MO I've been calling the idea "Liberty Circle" because I love the symbolism of the circle. No one at the head. No one left outside. Just people coming together, making room for one another, and growing together.

Downtown #VictoriaBC will be filled with music, colour and tradition on April 11 as the Victoria #BengaliCulturalSociety hosts its first outdoor celebration of #PohelaBoishakh - the #Bengali #NewYear. The #FreeEvent, set for #CentennialSquare at noon, marks a milestone for the local Bengali community, bringing one of its most recognized #cultural traditions into the public square. For the first time in Victoria, organizers will stage the #MongolShobhajatra -a “parade of well-being” recognized by #UNESCO. The procession will feature large, handcrafted masks and vibrant artistic structures, accompanied by drumming and music symbolizing #peace and #unity.
The parade is expected to begin around 1 p.m. The celebration will also include live Bengali music and dance performances, a food fair showcasing #SouthAsian cuisine, and vendor stalls offering traditional clothing and handmade goods. This year, we have harvested over 63,000 lbs of fruit! Of that, almost 32,000 lbs of Grade A fruit has been donated to the community, to over 70 community service agencies throughout the Greater Victoria Area. Our tree stewards have kept 4,500 lbs, and our amazing team of 191 Harvest Leads and Pickers have taken 13,000 lbs home.
What about the other 13,500 lbs you ask?
Made up of B-Grade, we have processed just over 7500 lbs into juice and jam. Some of the fruit is always C-Grade (compost). To date, we have composted just under 6000 lbs of fruit - while some of this has gone to our friends at Community Composting, the vast majority has gone to a local pig farmer.
We are proud to say no fruit has gone into the landfill!
