First time seeing a Common Starling in person, and I was amazed at how pretty it is! I bet it is even more colorful to tetrachromats and to other birds.
Also, these photos were part of my first batch where I felt confident in shooting manual!

Common starling (aka european starling). Prior to having the long zoom on my current camera I never got close enough to one to appreciate quite how iridescent they could appear! They're frequent visitors to a bird feeder a neighbour recently put out in their front garden.

European Starlings are common, beautiful and extremely annoying birds that are iridescent, glossy and covered in dazzling white speckles. This #CommonStarling perched on a spring Spruce tree branch is just one gorgeous bird, although they sure do drive me crazy with eating all the food in the bird feeder!
