I'm really happy that we decided collectively to do this, when we were together at the @internetarchiveeurope in Amsterdam last February.
We'll be working together shaping the building up of the Democratic Tech Fund Below a list of the workshops and sessions we're part of (directly), while weaving connections with all people and communities working in solidarity towards a decent world, based on shared, democratic tech that works for our communities and not against us.

❓ Wie kommen die nötigen Beiträge materieller und immaterieller Art zusammen?
❕Beiträge erfolgen freiwillig - zwischen Lust und Notwendigkeit - oder werden gemeinsam beschlossen. Sie sind keine Reaktion auf äußeren Druck oder Sanktionen. Dabei werden Leistungen nicht genau gegeneinander aufgerechnet. Es ist wichtig zu verinnerlichen, dass nicht alle Commoners zu jeder Zeit gleich viel beitragen können. Ihre unterschiedlichen Möglichkeiten transparent zu machen hilft, empfundene Fairness im gegenseitigen Austausch herzustellen. Oft sind Beiträge ,unsichtbar'.
🗿 »Ohne Zwänge beitragen bedeutet Geben ohne die Erwartung, etwas Gleichwertiges zurückzubekommen, jedenfalls nicht hier und jetzt.«
👉 Menschen bringen leckere Gerichte zu einem Buffet mit, tragen Geld zu einem Crowdfunding bei, bringen sich vielfältig im klassischen Ehrenamt ein und geben Wissen und Fertigkeiten weiter (Fahrräder reparieren, Fliesen legen oder in der Wikipedia schreiben).
👉 Auch kleine Beiträge sind wichtig: an Geburtstage denken, die Online-Ordnerstruktur pflegen oder an Treffen erinnern.
👉 Projekte wie das crowdfinanzierte, staatsunabhängige Grundeinkommen 'Mein Grundeinkommen' arbeiten auf Grundlage freiwilliger Beiträge.🗨 Was sind deine Gedanken dazu?

❓ Wie wird mit Regelverstößen umgegangen?
❕Wenn Regelverstöße zu Konflikten führen, können Sanktionen nötig werden. Zunächst die (Hinter-)Gründe für Regelüberschreitungen freizulegen, zu reflektieren und keine vorab festgelegten Strafen zu verhängen, erlaubt einen kontextsensiblen Umgang mit diesen Konflikten. Abgestufte Sanktionen sind zunächst gering und können sich -- zum Beispiel bei Mehrfachverletzung -- schrittweise verschärfen.
👉 Wer im selbstverwalteten Supermarkt Park Slope Foodcoop eine Schicht versäumt, darf erst nach zwei Zusatzschichten wieder einkaufen.
👉 In den Zanjera-Bewässerungsgemeinschaften auf den Philippinen erlaubt eine Prüfung der Vertrauenswürdigkeit angehender Mitglieder, Sanktionen vorzubeugen. Wer dennoch Regeln verletzt, wird zunächst teilweise suspendiert und nur im Wiederholungsfalle ausgeschlossen.

**Digital Sovereignty Collective**
A key part is that these efforts for digital autonomy shouldn't be undertaken by each organization in isolation. We use similar digital tools in similar ways, and face similar threats. That is the cause of our current vulnerability, but also a perfect starting point for collective action.
If *one* or a handful of organizations manages to defend themselves and their organizing capacity against fascist attacks and sabotage by fascism-aligned tech providers, we will likely all lose, still. To defend our society against fascism, and win our separate-yet-connected struggles, we need **all** anti-fascist orgs and movements to maintain and build their organizing capacity.
If you're part of an organization with values, goals and methods which oppose the values, methods and goals of fascism; read on. Digital Sovereignty Collective is an international network of a few dozen orgs like yours, digital hosting co-operatives/collectives, and tech workers' co-ops; collaborating, helping and sharing knowledge to liberate our own and eachothers' orgs from the clutches of fascism-vulnerable tech.

Or keep current track with fedi-we-have. Be content with a few great and reasonably popular app platforms. Surely some more to come. But with a messy wire protocol that stifles #innovation and isn't future-proof.

❓ Wie werden Konflikte angegangen?
❕Im geschützten Raum werden Konflikte sichtbar gemacht und ihre Gründe nachvollzogen. Beschwerden beziehen sich nicht auf Personen, sondern auf konkrete Verhaltensweisen oder Inhalte. Geäußerte Kritik geht mit persönlicher Wertschätzung einher. Durch eine Haltung des Respekts und des Sorgetragens lassen sich Beziehungen verändern, ohne sie zu kappen. Doch Trennungen sind nie ausgeschlossen.
🗿 »Die Frage ist nicht, ob Konflikte bearbeitet werden, sondern wie.«
👉 In Kreisgesprächen des Kooperativenverbundes Cecosesola (Venezuela) werden konkrete Verhaltensweisen offen kritisiert. Das geht oft an die Substanz, doch die Wortwahl bleibt respektvoll. Nach Konfliktsituationen vermittelt z.B. auch eine Umarmung die Botschaft: Ich sehe Dich als Mensch.
👉 Systemisches Coaching, Mediationen und Aufstellungen können einen beziehungswahrenden Umgang mit Konflikten unterstützen.🗨 Welche Beispiele kennst du?

In the context of the @DigitalCoup and #AuthoritarianTech, can we find an answer in #DemocraticTech? Something that goes beyond mere free/libre open source software, and combines #cooperativism and #commoning. Communities who govern their shared resources, and commit to shared responsibility.
I wrote an article about it, tracing the intellectual origins of the term "democratic technology", connecting to various intersectional critiques of the currently dominant model of surveillance capitalism from feminist, ecosocial perspectives.

I wrote an article about it, tracing the intellectual origins of the term "democratic technology", connecting to various intersectional critiques of the currently dominant model of surveillance capitalism from feminist, ecosocial perspectives.

❓ Wie ist der Herausforderung zu begegnen, ohne Einkommen nicht auszukommen?
❕Commoning kann Schritt für Schritt Leistungen ersetzen, die gemeinhin über den Markt vermittelt werden. Geschieht dies, ist weniger Geld für ein würdiges Leben nötig. Beziehungsnetze und Versorgungsstrukturen langlebiger Commons stiften nicht nur Zugehörigkeit, sondern auch materielle Sicherheit.
👉 Treuhänderische Organisationen wie die Kulturland Genossenschaft sichern Land für den Aufbau regionaler Versorgungsstrukturen durch Erbpacht, Crowdfunding und mehr.
👉 Commonsgemäße Wohnprojekte und Bauformen sorgen langfristig für ein mietpreisunabhängiges Dach über dem Kopf. Dafür stehen exemplarisch das Berliner Hausprojekt Kumi 13 oder das in Wien entwickelte Baukonzept Vivihouse.
👉 Im Gesundheitsbereich gibt es solidarische Unterstützungseinrichtungen ("Krankenversicherungen") wie Solidago oder Artabana.🗨 Was sind deine Gedanken dazu?
