  1. Project 3D-printed case for my Commodore 1541-II is mostly done. There was a bit of work needed to get the printed parts to fit nicely, but with a few blobs of UV resin and a file I got there in the end. Might reprint the lid, it's got a crack that I've repaired. It's fine for now tho. Inside is a spare drive mechanism I had lying around and a NOS mainboard from Retro8bitshop. It needs Jiffydos, but I'll make sure it works first! #Commodore #commodore1541 #retrocomputing #3dprinting

  2. I'm working on a 3D printed Commodore 1541-II case, time for the lid. Eventually found that printing this model upright got me the best result. The print's fine except a fracture on the right side, it was there even when the thing was on the printer bed. I guess the nicely modelled vents cause a structural issue right there. I'm not too worried, I'll get some clear UV resin and reinforce it from the inside. When the lid is in place, there'll be zero stress on that part. #commodore #commodore1541 #3dprinting #floppydrive
