Jeśli jesteście zmęczeni odwiecznym parówa-party w świecie gier wideo i tym, że są one nazbyt często odzwierciedleniem cisheckich fantazji, to polecam Wam ogranie prawdziwie kobiecego jRPGa: Briley Witch Chronicles na Commodore 64, dzieło niezwykle zdolnej Sary Jane Avory z 2021 roku.
Gra jest prawdziwym jRPG z krwi i kości i ma wszystkie wady (dla mnie wady, a dla wielu zalety) tego gatunku: predefiniowane postacie, liniowość, trochę grindowo-pokemonowy system walki etc., aczkolwiek od strony mechanicznej gra staje się coraz ciekawsza z każdą godziną rozgrywki — potyczki stają się coraz ciekawsze i wymagają coraz lepszego planowania, wykorzystywania alchemii itp. Dla mnie tytuł broni się przede wszystkim fabułą i mega przyjemnym klimatem — naprawdę wciąga i nie bez znaczenia jest tutaj talent pisarski autorki. Biorąc pod uwagę, że gra jest dziełem jednej programistki i musi zmagać się z ograniczeniami technologicznymi ośmiobitowej platformy, całokształt jest naprawdę imponujący. Można śmiało założyć, że gdyby gra o takiej skali wyszła w 1990 roku, przy odrobinie szczęścia byłaby popkulturowym sukcesem na miarę Final Fantasy czy The Legend of Zelda.
Do zagrania potrzebujemy:
A) Commodore 64 z programowalnym kartridżem obsługującym format EasyFlash (Kung Fu Flash sprawdza się świetnie i jest niedrogi) oraz opcjonalnie dowolnego urządzenia do zapisu stanu gry podpinanego do portu IEC (stacja dysków lub jej emulator lub SD2IEC) — stan gry można zapisywać również na kartridżu, ale byłbym ostrożny z tą opcją, łatwo przypadkiem sobie popsuć sejwy.

The Lords of Midnight es un videojuego de estrategia y de aventuras, muy influenciado por Tolkien y el Señor de los Anillos, que recrea un universo donde, planeando la estrategia correcta, podrás luchar en batallas multitudinarias, reclutar soldados, y ganar nuevos Caballeros a tu servicio.
Nos movemos en un mundo inmenso repleto de bosques, lagos y ciudadelas.
Este mundo se recrea con un sistema de generación gráfica llamado Landscaping capaz de generar 32.000 posibles visualizaciones del entorno.
El jugador comienza con cuatro personajes (Luxor the Moonprince, Rorthron the Wise, Corleth the Fey y Morkin), y debe ir reclutando más caballeros (Lord Ithrorn, The Utarg of Utarg, Lord Blood, Lord Xajorkith y Lord Shadows, por nombrar sólo unos pocos) con el objetivo de destruir a Doomdark, el Rey Hechicero de Midnight.
La libertad de movimientos y de toma de decisiones convirtieron a este programa rápidamente en un juego de culto en Reino Unido, con legiones de fans que lo mantienen vivo hasta nuestros días.
El juego ha sido adaptado para el #ZXSpectrumNext y su clon el N-GO (viene incluido) lo que evidencia el interés que sigue generando.
