Turned off shore power. Watched the solar panels all morning. Something’s not right.

Isolate the banks. The engine start battery is dead. 62lbs of lead and acid. 10’ from the ground. Great care required.

After the sun went down battery voltage stabilized at 12.9V. Very healthy.

Tomorrow we’ll see if she starts. Then we can change the oil.

Arrived at the boat. She’s a mess, but it seems like a manageable mess. The dehumidifier kept the inside reasonably dry and with minimal mildew. (None obviously visible. No smell.)

Two years of rain on deck with no wash down means some mildew and mud on deck.

Mud.

How does mud get 10’ in the air to land on deck? I’m guessing it’s 2 years of boatyard dust.

#ESAEuclid has successfully completed its #commissioning. A collaborative effort of #ESA, the @ec_euclid, and industry partners established communication 📡, turned on and checked both instruments, focussed the #telescope 🔭, and tested spacecraft pointing 🛰️.

This is now complete, and the teams have moved on to "performance verification", observing science-like sequences and calibration images.

Update on #ESAEuclid #commissioning: the spacecraft 🛰️ was warmed up to "de-ice" telescope and instruments 🧊. The background:

Warm-up was done for a couple of days by tilting the spacecraft ~30° further towards the sun 🌞 than the normal position that Euclid will keep for its survey. This has been successfully completed, Euclid was tilted back, and is now cooling down 🥶.
