The only remotely relevant issue I found on this is that micd doesn’t work if “started too fast”. I don’t think that’s exactly my problem, but this did lead me to remembering that I left home in a rush and I don’t really know if the #CommaAI was booted up fully. But it seems fine now at lunch.

First unexpected issue with #OpenPilot today. micd isn’t running so lane keeping won’t engage.
I mean, I can see why you would not want it to do lane keeping if not everything is up and running, but micd specifically has nothing to do with steering the car. So that was annoying. Hopefully just a random glitch.

Hadn't realized the Comma Four no longer even requires the separate OBD cable... it all runs through the plug for the car's own lane keeping camera. Interesting.
