I decided to write the review of bike spaces on the new #comfortjet #train on different post.
It is nice that there are ~12 spots for bikes - 7 on hooks and ~5 leaning on rail (it may be possible to put there more bikes I don't know the specification).
Just he prepared that if you have deep wheels or run wider tires it may be really hard to get them on the hook. With my 45mm tires it is snug fit. Also another gripe with them is the seating, you just can't use it when the bike is up there and the derailleur leans (and scratches) on the seat.
All in all quite decent offer, the ticket for the bike on the route #Prague - #Berlin goes for 18€ so not that bad.

I'm still deciding what to ride after I get to Gdansk on my #bikepacking trip.
Right now I am inclined to follow the coast west to Germany and maybe getting to Denmark because then I can get direct train back to Czech Republic with my bike.
What do you think #bike and #train people here will I have a spot in #comfortjet for me and my bike even if I don't book it well in advance?

Ride out of Hamburg is pretty comfy (tracks are decent here as well). It's no high-speed ICE but definitely no Talgo 230 either. Noise levels are fine*.
Info system is super nice. Instead of dumb games or ads it is simply explaining all features of the train.
*most noise is from Swedish people being much louder than needed to operate as a human being. It seems to be cultural

Trip to Berlin by #ComfortJet. Step one: the ComfortJet is cancelled, take any train.

This was predicted last evening. And you'd think DSB, which has spare rolling stock, would put another train in that time slot. Nope: two departures of 500+ person trains just cancelled.
Anyway. Toddler and I found some seat reservations on the ONE reasonable alternative (can't make the earlier one, can't leave too late due to toddler being two #sleeptime).
Not a fun start.

Input needed from #Czech train users: In a #ComfortJet train, is the upgrade to 1st class worth it?
I have the option to purchase 1st class tickets (my employer is paying! it's allowed in the travel policy!) but I still feel a bit cheeky going from 2nd to 1st (am I being classist to myself? I feel like I don't belong there).
It's a 9 hours journey, so comfort does matter.

Obwohl es eigentlich erst im #Fahrplan2026 so richtig losgeht, hatte der #Comfortjet sein Debüt in 🇦🇹 bereits am 6. Oktober. Seither verkehren die RJ 73 und 370 bereits mit den neun-teiligen Garnituren, welche dadurch von #Praha 🇨🇿 über #Wien bis nach #Graz kommen.

Apropos ČD – heute den ersten #ComfortJet im EC-Einsatz gesehen. War zwar super leise (und sah von außen sehr stylisch aus), aber traurig, trau4ig um dem Speisewagen.
