The skies cleared, so I was able to catch sight of Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS again, with assistance of a tripod and a remote trigger to avoid shake and blur.

We setup my camera on one of the Buffalo Astronomical Association's telescopes during the Buffalo Audubon's Trick-or-Treat Hike event on 10//19/2024 to capture comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-Atlas). Every night, I wonder if it is the *last* night I'll be able to photograph Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. But it showed up again tonight with *just* enough brightness.

I was able to squeeze a few good photos of Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS out of my setup tonight. But it grows increasingly dim and hard to separate from the "noise" of the night sky.

Still thankful for the opportunity to document astronomical history.

Tonight, Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS contrasted with #Autumn #foliage over #TrumbullCT.

It was *much* harder to photograph the comet tonight, either because it is dimmer or because there was more light pollution. But I am happy with the few shots I managed to get.

Photos of Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS taken tonight via my Canon EOS R7 using my Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L lens.

The first is with the F-Stop minimized and the second with it at normal settings. Both enhanced a bit with Luminari Luminar Neo.

I think I am learning what works best for my setup. I am much happier with these photos than the ones last night.

After 3 days of searching of the evening sky, I *finally* got photos of Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS over my home in #TrumbullCT.

They're not the best or the brightest - my iPhone 16 Pro Max did better than my SLR - but they're mine. A little piece of history. :-)

Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) imaged last night near Princeton, NJ. The bright moon definitely impacted the viewing and the comet wasn't naked eye visible to me. Lightroom processed a bit.

I’d been hoping to get out to see the #comet sometime this week. Tonight was going to be my last chance to see it from anywhere other that the well lit workplace. So! I almost forgot after sundown, but remembered just in time. WOW!!!! Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS!!!

Last week was the stunning Aurora Borealis and tonight was by far the best naked eye comet I have ever seen! Even in my crappy light-polluted town, this was pretty spectacular!

This was a six second exposure with my Olympus EM-5 and an adapted Canon FD 135mm lens at f/3.5. I used Irfanview to increase the contrast a little.
