Seems appropriate to post on Mastodon about the status of my elephant ears (#colocasia). Also known as taro when grown for food. Time to dig them up and store the corms for the winter. Non-native to DC, but they thrive in our hot and humid summers with extra watering. The leaves are covered with a hydrophobic bio-wax that repels water. #garden #taro #mastodogs #dogsofmastodon
