  1. Colin James Hay, Looking for Jack, 1987 on Columbia

Solo debut from the man more well known (to me at least) as the lead singer of Men At Work, which he fronted from 1978 to 1986. He's actually had quite a lengthy solo career and done a lot of really interesting work. This album may not be the pinnacle of that work, but it has consistent quality songwriting and vocals, if the band sometimes feels a bit generic. Even the cover makes it feel somehow rushed out, perhaps hoping to capitalize before the reputation of Men At Work faded. Herbie […]

  8. Hab die Woche fast nur Men At Work gehört, inspiriert vom Scrubs-Cameo des Sängers. #menatwork #colinhay

  11. "Down Under" is a song recorded by #Australian #rock band #MenAtWork. It was originally self-released in 1980 as the #Bside to their first local single, "Keypunch Operator", before the band signed a recording contract with #ColumbiaRecords. Both early songs were written by the group's co-founders, #ColinHay and #RonStrykert. The early version of "#DownUnder" has a slightly slower tempo and different arrangement from the later Columbia release.

  12. Ted Tocks Covers - Year 7 - Day 37

    Waterloo Sunset

An English classic released on this day in 1967.

“Dirty old river, must you keep rolling
    Flowing into the night?
People so busy, make me feel dizzy
    Taxi light shines so bright
But I don't need no friends
As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset
    I am in paradise”
