Originally the song was titled "(I'll Remember) #InTheStillOfTheNite" to distinguish itself from #ColePorter's "In the Still of the Night.” Later the title was changed to "In the Still of the Night". While only a moderate hit when first released (peaking at No. 24 on the national pop charts).

Musical Interlude: How about some Lena? Her last recording session (although there's talk that another happened) gave us some gems. Sure, her voice wasn't what it once was, but she still had attitude and her voice and delivery reflected her experience. Here's a delightful Cole Porter song.
"It's All Right with Me," performed by Lena Horne.

In 1932, the Great Depression had reached its peak, with unemployment in the US alone topping out at 24.9%. (Right now in 2025 it’s at 4.4%.)
Amelia Earhart’s triumphant solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean gave the papers some positive news to print, as well as Franklin D. Roosevelt beating out Herbert Hoover for the role of US president.
The big band sound and jazz dominated the music scene, with Cole Porter’s song “Night And Day” sung by Fred Astaire being the biggest hit of the year.

I was in this lovely #review of #ColePorter #songs. Six of us & a #trio. I got to do some #partnering, a hip lift, she was in a circle skirt, LOL. My favorite part was in #act two when the #character woman Anita was #belting some shit out, down center on the bottom stair & at just the right moment, they pushed from behind & the #audience saw for the first time that it was on wheels & when I saw it from the house in #rehearsal I got #goosebumps. Happiest decades of my life, doing live #theatre.

Very much enjoying being back in a choir. It feels good to sing. The only downside is that I am now endlessly earworming the songs we’re doing. Creep was okay last week, but Another Op'nin', Another Show is pushing it a bit.

Gosh, I've just been reminded that Saturday is Indie Bookstore Day. 🌈🦄
Sounds to me like a perfect day to peruse the #SROP catalog and choose something absolutely free to go with your margarita while you laze in the sun, or huddle in the rain, or shiver in the snow, or bask in the #glow.

SpaceAce Sunday | Julie London with The Bud Shank Quintet – All Through The Night: Julie London Sings the Choicest of Cole Porter (1965, US)
The next album submitted to the project by SpaceAce aka J, our dearly missed friend, is number 1052 on The List.
This is pin-up model-turned actress-turned singer Julie London’s 24th of 29 studio albums. J had a handful of Julie’s albums, so it’s not a bad idea to listen to another one or two of her albums after this one. Not bad at all.

This one is for you romantics out there. All Through The Night was pin-up model-turned actress-turned singer Julie London’s 24th of 29 studio albums, and it’s just as gorgeous – maybe even moreso? – as her debut from a decade prior, Julie Is Her Name (1955).[1] J had a handful of Julie’s albums, so it’s not a bad idea to listen to another album or two after this one. Not bad at all.
Btw, exactly one year ago, we had our first SpaceAce spotlight, when J was still with us. If you didn’t catch J’s review of Forest’s The Full Circle the first time, take a look. The post is technically a glorified link to our friend Puffer’s Digital LoFi blog where J’s review lives, but seeing his comment at the bottom of the post here always makes me smile.
Thanks, J.
