Folk have been making overblown medical claims for cold water for a long-time.
Turns out one of the first proposals for a controlled trial (on #scabies fwiw) was a C19th Irish Dr trolling a cold-water proponent.

Recently discovered cold water therapy. I refuse to call it ice bath cus it not ice, it’s not even ice cold!
But anyway, I’m seriously impressed by the effects. My knees are shit from years of bike riding/crashing etc. most days I end up in pain and often have disturbed sleep because they ache. But since getting a cheap #coldwatertherapy bath from Lidl and using it daily the improvement have been massive.

I have questions re nipple issues after cold exposure that either are actually happening or are all in my head. (Happy to take this to DMs if preferred of course.)
