By the way. My 24kJ capacitor bank discharges enough energy to cause a small EMP, which in turn scrambles digital clocks within 20 feet or so. Isn't that nuts?

OK folks of Mastodonland, I finally dug out my "small" induction launcher that I built well over 20 years ago.

It consists of 16 capacitors, 3600uf @ 350vdc each. 8 each are wired in parallel to form two banks, which are then wired in series, giving 700v. Then two of those in series for 1400v (~3.5kJ). An SCR triggers discharge into a pancake coil, and a large diode prevents back-emf from killing the SCR.

In this demo, you see what happens with just 44vdc...now imagine a full 1400vdc... And then imagine my larger 24kJ bank.....
