I’ve listened to the latest album (Doperider) by #TheUtopiaStrong now a couple times and it’s honestly brilliant. Musical, layered, electronic goodness but with other instruments too.

#UtopiaStrong is a project by Michael J York (#Teleplasmiste, played also with #Coil), #SteveDavis (#snooker champion) and #KavusTorabi. I feel with this album they have gone beyond the individual sparkles to a complete artwork. Recommended.

A theory has occurred to me as I woke up (probably irrational but I'll voice it anyway, just to get it out of my head)

I have an Uphold account from when the coil Web Monetization thing was running. They recently moved from allowing standards based 2FA (TOTP) to mandating installing their mobile app to sign in even on the web.

My first thought was that this was an information grab, but now wondering if it is also to stop people cashing out during a price crash

When I was a teen in the 90s, I had this VHS tape, a compilation with Wax Trax Records artists - it starts with two KMFDM songs, there's Laibach, Coil, Ministry, Front Line Assembly, and Psychic TV on it. And it's all on YouTube now. This is a wild watch. This got me really more hooked on industrial music - I was already a KMFDM/Coil fan but I hadn't heard a lot from those other bands, and 🤯 There's some stuff in here too I was a little more meh on (Sister Machine Gun, a real odd one), but wow did I watch this a lot as a kid.
