Yesterday someone told me they're considering buying a coffee machine with "AI features".

In my head, a little thought bubble popped up, like Homer Simpson when he’s thinking:
- "Machine, make me a coffee."
- "Sure! Here’s your coffee!"

Inside: a mix of coffee, tea, chocolate, gear oil, and leftovers from a 1986 birthday dinner.

- "Machine, this isn’t coffee! It’s disgusting! You've poisoned me!"
- "You’re right. If you'd like, I can give you the number for poison control, or, if it's too late, for a funeral home."

I replied: "Personally, I prefer making my coffee myself."

I switched from a simple coffee scale taking AAA batteries (from Aliexpress) to a more expensive one that's rechargeable with USB-C. But besides not needing batteries once in a year, it's worse in every aspect.
- Terrible UX
- Needs to be charged every month
- Doesn't give any warning before going low-battery

So, I usually avoid espressos in the afternoon. That stuff keeps me up. However, it’s Friday here in Japan, and I plan on some coding and maybe gaming after work. So why the heck not?
