  2. @ankaretwells SO funny, just revisited a website I love about #coffee-makers & other parts of #CafeCulture in #history.

Which world-regions interest you? If #France I can recommend a few websites/databases! & if #French isn't a language of yours I'm sure they can be easily translated.

An important thing I often note in any #research-topic is, resources en #français (similarly of #Italy) discuss behind-the-scenes *as part of #culture*!

Hope that helps! All the best.

  5. Hey, can anyone recommend me a book, article or other resource on how eighteenth century #coffeehouses actually made #coffee? So far all I've found is either contemporary art (which is useful for what the pots looked like, at least) or discussion of coffee house culture, which is interesting but doesn't help with what was going on behind the scenes. I feel like at some point I encountered a small paperback about this, possibly in a museum in Bath, but I haven't managed to track it down.

  10. I've been working in the cold this week and my fingers and toes are feeling it. I'd been researching and writing about late 17th century coffee shops, and it made me think about the cold and the periwigs.
