Here in BC/PNW I've never seen any Romanian style cobza playing but I've seen Hungarian groups play it in this style. a lot more like the usual guitar strumming style but with a pretty steady rhythm

Thinking once again how cool it would be to own and learn the cobza😅realistically I have never been good with plucked instruments, just ask the dust-covered mandolin case under my bed. doesn't stop me from lurking in Cobza fb groups and dreaming.
as a cimbalom player we owe so many of our techniques to the cobza, at least when playing in the Romanian accompaniment style like in this video
