  1. Using the very distinctive How Much Did the Birds Eat? metric we are in for some capital w weather. We're talking quarts of bird seed. Gird your loins. #CoastTimeYear #BackyardHabitat #orweather

  2. Was asked early this morning what time my appointment was today, and I don't remember having any. Rather than stress myself out all day about an imaginary appointment that I am forgetting, I am making an appointment for myself now. If y'all could remind me to draw #FancyGuppies at 9:15 that would be great. Also I am thinking about #SodaBread at 10:30. #CoastTimeYear #BakersDayOff

  3. Feeling emotional this #NewYearsDay for our first #CoastTimeYear holiday season. Got a simple message from a customer yesterday that read "You have created community."

It took 50 years and it's always going to be a work in progress but Home always should be.

And honestly, that includes this space. Love, prosperity and health, however you define it, to all of you.

  4. Feeling like baking today, may embrace soda bread and British style beans to go with. If I do that, though, I need to put on pants for Buttermilk. Decisions decisions decisions. #BakersDayOff #CoastTimeYear

  5. Today in surreal #CoastTimeYear moments, I will go to work today and I will more than likely watch people read an article about my restaurant while sitting in my restaurant.

  6. Ended up with goodwill finds on the opposite spectrum of my head but I love this serving plate for 99 cents. Still contemplating the shop at home for filling out the details. Spent $6. #tablesetting #OddHobbies #CoastTimeYear

  7. #CoastTimeYear magic this week came in the form of the guy who showed up at close, moss on his hat, with a rumpled paper bag and asked "I heard you might be interested in buying some mushrooms?". The bag had 5 pounds of gorgeous chanterelles. Yes, yes I am interested.

  8. We opened for business last Thursday and just finished our first full week. It was amazing, terrifying, so much work and wonderful. I am deeply grateful we are closed the next two days. #CoastTimeYear #SoMuchLaundry #WorkLifeBalance

  9. We have reached the best/worst time of moving: the time where there is not enough time. Instead of thoughtful decluttering and packing, it is "shove this in a damn box and take it" which means when we arrive and open said box there will be a certain amount of "why the hell did I move a box of 8 year old insurance bills, exactly?" #CoastTimeYear #ReadyToBeDoneMoving

  10. Me, most of the time: "Woohoo I have so many books!"
Me, moving to the new house "Holy sweet potatoes why do I have so many books?" #CoastTimeYear #BoxenOfBooksen

  11. You know it's real when you are hooking up utilities. Have to adjust to the no mail service to the house life. #CoastTimeYear

  12. I wake up to the smell of paint and sunshine against a dark slate colored sky. The realtor is coming over today to assess the chaos. #CoastTimeYear

  13. Money has officially changed hands for the new house which means stepping up this one for sale. It also means there is a definite we will be living on the coast date, so going to be whittling down the "we should eat there" list. Tonight was Eem. It was good. #CoastTimeYear

  14. It is truly amazing to me how many things we have just made more byzantine in the name of zoning and local bureaucracy. Currently trying to reconcile local height regulations with my dream home vision, which is apparently four feet too tall. #CoastTimeYear

  15. Let's see, did dishes, fed the #sourdough, tonight's #dinner was ravioli in broth and bought a restaurant. So things got done today. #BuryTheLede #CoastTimeYear

  16. We close on the business and get keys today. I just put those words in a sentence. #CoastTimeYear

  17. Tomorrow is my last day at my current job, and then it's full throttle into my own bakery space on the coast. Now if I could just figure out where to live, it would be great. #CoastTimeYear

  18. #Dinner conundrums: do I spend the next month trying to eat lots of food from restaurants that won't be as accessible when we start the #CoastTimeYear or do I save all the money for the projects I have planned when we get there? Notable facts: I am a #virgo

  19. #CoastTimeYear house upgrades for market means today I am trying to reclaim some of my space between projects.
