The salt mounds were lower than usual at the salt ponds and one of them looks like a vehicle drove over it (I assume that's the thing that happens!).

We were already a couple of hours late, so didn't pass Vandenburg in time and had to sit for 45 minutes until the SpaceX launch 🚀 didn't see it, but the train shook!

I never know why they sometimes route through Niles instead of the regular route, but this is the first time I've gone through during the daytime in a while – no idea what's going on but now we've been sitting next to a field south of Fremont for 20 minutes.

I took the train to LA on Tuesday back today.

For years – decades – I've taken a picture of this spindly Poinsettia tree at the San Luis Obispo Amtrak station every time I pass through. I don't know why I like it so much. Usually has at least one bloom all year round.
Today I saw these trees with the bright orange blooms on them, I've never seen them bloom before. Does anyone know what these are?

in the early 80s, my friend and I were driving on Highway 5 in the summer and there were all kinds of bugs hitting the window and we ran out of windshield wiper fluid so I leaned out of the sunroof and poured water like this; I believe this means I'm qualified to be a train engineer.
