I paid a visit to the Oceanana Fishing Pier the evening of January 8 2023. Located along the Crystal Coast in the seaside community of Atlantic Beach, it is one of only two such piers left in Carteret county North Carolina.

I visited the beach at Fort Macon State Park on the evening of December 30, 2022. For most of the year the park closes too early to enjoy the sunset. For a few short weeks during the winter, however, the gate closes after the sun sets. It is an opportunity I simply cannot resist!
