FEMA status on Typhoon Bavi (Guam, CNMI) on July 7, 2026

"Situation: Typhoon Bavi has downgraded to Category 4 and continues to move away from the Marianas (JTWC Advisory #26, as of 5:00 a.m. ET). Super Typhoon Bavi made landfall as a strong Category 5 storm over Rota on the
morning of July 6, with maximum sustained winds of approximately 180 mph on Rota and up to 90 mph on Tinian and Saipan. Deployed personnel are focusing on post-impact response preparations, including establishing
geographic divisions for coordinated operations across the islands, developing logistics and resource transportation plans and outlining rapid needs assessments for medical, search and rescue, critical infrastructure, and
