I've been using #cmus for years. Enjoying it all the more now I've finally taken the trouble to learn how to make playlists.
One feature I'd like but which seems to be missing is the ability to show the path / filename of the track that's currently playing.
Sometimes a great track comes on and I have no idea where it is in my filesystem. Even worse if the metadata is uninformative.
For now I just hop onto another shell and type...
lsof -c cmus
...to see what's playing!

I always missed the terminal UI, most of those players UIs are cluttered and run with Electron.Today I found out about #musikcube and I am very happy. I love that it has a remote option so I can run it as a server and use the local terminal to control it.

i had been using #musikcube for a console music player but it crashes on one of my favorite albuns and i have absolutely no idea why. i tried #cmus but the bindings are so weird i always think i'll end up deleting stuff i don't want to.
anyone got a suggestion that **doesn't** involve setting up #mpd (because i couldn't make sense of that one either)?
