Nachdem ich die Tage bei #McDonalds ein #RedBull mit #Waldmeister hatte, habe ich jetzt Waldmeistersirup besorgt und in meine #ClubMate gekippt. Die alten Götter sind tot und haben uns für immer verlassen.

Finde es super, dass #Zuckersteuer auf die Agenda gebracht wurde, sollten wir unbedingt tun!
Derweil reflektiere ich als #Mate-Trinker meinen Konsum und setze ihn in Bezug:

Jüngst brachte MioMate eine zuckerfreie Variante auch von der #Ginger-Sorte auf den Markt. Bin unsicher, ob so viel besser für den Körper? Geschmacklich jedenfalls nicht.

Irgendwie hab ich Lust ne #ClubMate zu trinken, aber weiß dass es eigentlich schon zu spät ist, weil ich dann auch abends immer noch hell wach bin.
Ich trinke sie aber trotzdem jetzt einfach.

I tried this sparkling #mate infusion a friend gifted to me some time ago. It should be something similar to #clubmate (never had the chance to try that, as it's not sold near me).
I didn't like it a lot. I probably was expecting something sweet, being a canned beverage, but it's actually just a cold mate infusion (a #tereré?).
I had to try it, but still prefer the plain old hot mate. -

3rd batch of the diy #clubmate is a banger! Reduced sugar to 90g for 50g mate. And extra filtering and reduction to 65°C make a big difference - soo smooth! Maybe the next time I try brown sugar, could imagine that could round up the taste even more. And adding a pinch of salt. Still room for improvement, but these are really finishing touches.

1 liter bomboclat pussy waggon, club mate syrup!This time I made 4 brewing iterations, first 3 with 65°C the last with 70°C. And I double filtered everything in the end with a paperless coffee filter - hope the effort was worth it. Now it's too late to try it 😅

Had a wonderful time at #MatrixConf2025. Nice people and interesting talks in a very beautiful city. Only the #ClubMate situation was a little problematic 😄 Thanks to all volunteers and the organizers.

2nd batch of my diy #clubmate journey. Several improvements so far! First of all I reduced the tea portion to 50g, so I can have more iterations with the supply I have left. Also reduced the temperature to 70°C, which made the result less bitter. 75°C was too hot. Thanks for the recommendation @FlockOfCats to make multiple brews with the same leafs to squeeze everything out. I was able to get 2,3l product out of 50g - thats insignifically less than on my first batch with 100g. #tea #yerbamate

1st batch of my diy #clubmate journey.
Well actually it's not my first try making a club mate like beverage, but my first serious attempt. I ordered 1kg of yerba mate and will iterate in 100g batches to improve the taste. For the first one I gone with the measurements of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uBnJAEiDugThe taste is far away from smooth and a little bitter - but overall solid. Next time I go with less water temp and shorter but multiple brews. But for the first iteration quite refreshing
