Es gibt aber eine REST-Api für kDrive auf die man Zugriff hat. Also kurzerhand einen WebDAV Wrapper dafür gemacht mit Multi-Tenancy-Support (für die anderen Konten der Familie) und in einen LXC im Heimnetz gepackt. Jetzt können #Synology #CloudSync und #HyperBackup per #WebDAV mit kDrive reden.

OK, dann wollen wir mal #Filen testen. Auf der einen Maschine alles hochgeschoben, auf der anderen alles runter gezogen. Das klappte schon mal ganz gut unter durchgehender Auslastung der verfügbaren Bandbreite. Wenn ich es recht sehe macht Filen keinen Sync auf Blocklevel, muss also immer ganze Dateien herumschieben. Mal sehen ob das bemerkbar wird. #cloudsync

If you are like me, then you might have installed the #GoogleAuthenticator app, back in the days when it was the only solution out there for #TOTP #2FA.

But that is long ago. Since then, #Google has closed-sourced it's solution, forced #cloudsync otto it's users and stores these information unencrypted; plus it's suspected to collect even more data from you than needed. And it's a US BigTech company.

I've looked into a couple of alternatives and landed with #Aegis and #EnteAuth which are both excellent #free #opensource choices from #europe. I went with @ente because of it's larger platform support.

So why are you not already using an alternative? It's super easy, and took me less then 10 minutes:
1. On GoogleAuthenticator go to the ☰
2. Select transfer codes
3. Select all the codes you want to transfer --> Google will create a number of QR-Codes, each containing 10 accounts.

On your alternative say import, and scan the Google codes and you're good to go and can let go of yet another proprietary US BigTech dependency (and thus liability).

But today I logged into my #Synology #NAS to do a manual backup to an external drive (don't worry, I have automated backups offsite as well) and noticed #CloudSync couldn't sync anymore. Its folder didn't exist. But it did. Relinked OneDrive, and now it's merging files. What's there to merge???

#Synology #C2ObjectStorage can be a viable sync destination for your #Synology #CloudSync.

With 15GB of free space and no egress fees it’s another way to have some of your #NAS data synced offsite.

TrueNAS Cloud Sync to a service like Backblazes B2 is useless (for me).

I would like to backup my photo archive from home to a remote location. Preferably in such a way that there is one big upload to start off with, and then much smaller incremental uploads when new data is added.

Doing a 3TB upload everyday, and overwriting already uploaded files doesn't make for a good backup practice.

Die #synology kann via #cloudsync ganz wunderbar permanent spiegeln - auf Wunsch in beide Richtungen.
Und du hast auch noch die Auswahl welche Verzeichnisse gesynct werden sollen.
Es gibt imho nicht viele Gründe ein Nas vollständig ans Netz zu lassen.
