Cloud hosting firms CloudNordic & AzeroCloud (owned by the same company), confirms that most of their cloud customer data have been lost & that the data may be irrecoverable as a result of a ransomware attack during a datacentre migration.
In their public notices, they recommended customers to restore from local backup or using services like the Wayback Machine archives to restore their data.

Oof. I've never used (nor even heard of) CloudNordic but this is ... not good.
CloudNordic has told customers to consider all of their data lost following a ransomware infection that encrypted the large Danish cloud provider's servers
Remember if you have data in the cloud then it's just on somebody else's computer, and could potentially vanish at any moment. Keep backups if anything you have is irreplaceable.

Backing up your cloud data is important. Storing those backups outside of the cloud or at a different cloud service provider is also important.
At minimum, your cloud backups should be stored in a different account and in a different region than your production systems.
Unfortunately, the minimal precautions alone wouldn’t have helped CloudNordic’s customers. If your CSP’s management plane is compromised, only offline backups or a multi-cloud backup solution will save you.
