$2/year VPS with only 256 MiB RAM, 1 GiB disk turned out to be enough for private blog. This guide walks through lightweight setup that keeps server side simple:
- Build the site with GitHub Actions
- Deploy generated files with `rsync`
- Publish the blog through Cloudflare Tunnel under your own domain

Mennyire örülök annak, hogy rájöttem arra, hogy létezik egy self host #Cloudflare #Tunnel alternatíva a #Pangolin formájában.

A bár, publikus IP-vel rendelkező, mégis ki nem nyitható routerem esetén, meg úgy biztonsági szempontból is sokkal kényelmesebb.

Igaz, ehhez kell bérelnem egy VPS-t a #Vultr szolgáltatónál (nekem ez vált be már sok-sok éve, de gateway átjáróként használható, olcsóbb alternatívát szívesen fogadok), ami évi 60 eurómba kerül, de legalább a szerverem kimegy, a kapcsolatok nem arra érkeznek közvetlenül, hanem a VPS-re. Szóval... Minden oké.

És a #Tailscale #Funnel szolgáltatásával sem kell szórakoznom, ami vagy tűrhető sávszéllel volt, vagy nem, és a hozzá tartozó domaint soha nem tudtam megjegyezni normálisan, annak ellenére, hogy minden szolgáltatásomhoz volt egy #sidecar megoldásként alkalmazott TS konténer is.

De, legalább így ki tud menni a #JellyFin is és a #Nextcloud is a világba, és nem kell félnem attól, hogy a CF előszed a #ToS megsértése miatt.

#Immich und #CloudflareTunnel läuft derzeit nicht wirklich sauber zusammen. Man bekommt viele Fehlermeldungen im Log. ("Multipart: Unexpected end of form“)

My partner and I love capturing moments through photos, but our cloud storage was overflowing. I decided to take matters into my own hands and turn my idle workstation into a self-hosted photo album. The result? A private, accessible online gallery where we can relive our memories without worrying about cloud storage limits.

This project has been a fantastic learning experience. It was a crash course in full-stack development, pushing me to dive deeper into frontend technologies, understand JWT for secure access, and implement granular visibility controls. It wasn't always smooth sailing, but the learning was invaluable. Building something I use daily is incredibly satisfying.

The photo album is designed for ease of use, with simple setup, drag-and-drop photo management, and intuitive visibility controls using `.hidden` and `.private` suffixes. Cloudflare Tunnel ensures secure online access, prioritizing privacy and personal control. It's all wrapped up in a user-friendly package.

This is an early-stage project, and I'd love for others in the Hachyderm community to try it out! If you're new to self-hosting, feel free to clone the GitHub repository and give it a shot. I'm always open to feedback, whether it's technical or just general impressions. Let's explore the world of self-hosting together!

I was applying for a lil Art show that goes in conjunction with a Texas glass conference I am presenting at later this year when I realized that I dont actually have any edited photos of the Big Cobalt Sunset Eclipse Sphere I made last year.

A few minutes in GIMP fixed that. Here are two that make it look a little rounder than it really is.

Doubtful that they will have the shipping budget... but also doubtful that they will be able to find something quite like it. Who knows, a Fort Worth business might really like it? The piece is inspired by the eclipse that want through there last year... and those beautiful Texas Sunsets.
