  1. I gave in and joined bluesky. Just to see what it's like.

First impression, and perhaps a lesson for mastodon: There seem to be a lot of old #ClimateTwitter people there and unlike here, it was very easy to find them because I could simply scan other people's followers lists.

I guess that's what people mean when they say it's hard to find people on #ClimateMastodon ?

Regardless, not going to leave this place, I like it here and I like not supporting yet another VC-funded walled garden

Adding a few more climate scientists and thinkers active on here

And more - let’s all keep on adding to the list. I am really heartened to see a bit more movement just now from #ClimateTwitter to #ClimateMastodon!

  3. Posting another #introduction (since it has been a few weeks and there are a lot of new folks here)! I'm a #bioarchaeologist interested in #ethics of research on #human remains and #epidemiology in periods of past #ClimateChange. I'm a #professor of #Biology at UNC Greensboro. I'm also mom of 4 kids, 3 #dogs, 2 #cats. My Twitter still exists (@GRSchug) but I'm building a new community here. I post about #ClimateMastodon, #Health, #Ethics, and #Archaeology.ing

If you're trying to rebuild #ClimateTwitter into #ClimateMastodon, I'd recommend fedifinder.glitch.me/ and maybe twitodon.com/ to find contacts. You're both following me on Twitter but not here, so guess you haven't tried them.

My imported follows transformacion.social/web/@ced include many scientists, advocates and (unsurprisingly) IT types, but fewer journalists and politicians. So you may get more nuanced conversations here, but less topical or confrontational.
