Thanks to the article linked by @AnthonyPWalker at https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/ac8694 we see that the Central #Appalachians are a hotspot of above-ground #carbon storage worldwide. Why is the @forestservice attacking our #ClimateForests with projects like the #UpperCheatRiver #clearcuts?

One of my favorite @thickTrunks for #ThickTrunkTuesday. Within the #UpperCheatRiver Project area but luckily just outside one of the #ClearCut areas, unlike many other >200 year old red oaks and sugar maples that will be cut under this #logging project targeting #Oldgrowth #ClimateForests.
