  1. CW: Study on indirect deaths by weather events

This is a really informative video that discusses high death tolls indirectly caused by weather emergencies using historical data collected from the US south east.

It hits the big factors and hypotheses of indirect death tolls and discusses each briefly, but is very telling and relevant to climate change impacts for the planet.

  2. The Himalayan range, once visible from Kathmandu, is now obscured by severe air pollution and haze caused by dust, smoke from fires, crop burning, vehicle and industrial emissions, and construction dust. Climate change has worsened the issue by lengthening dry seasons and reducing rainfall, allowing haze to persist longer.

  6. FOA says the world’s agrifood systems were responsible for 31% of total “anthropogenic” GHG emissions in 2019. That's a 17% increase from 1990.

35% of agrifood’s total came from supply chain factors: pre- and post-production processes including manufacturing of fertilizers, food processing, packaging, transport, retail, household consumption, and food waste disposal. These GHG emissions doubled between 1990 & 2019.
