This shift involves repurposing central banks, investing in public transport, and restorative rewilding to ensure a sustainable future for all. Ultimately, the work asserts that achieving climate justice requires dismantling the power structures that have historically commodified the natural world.

  13. "There is a tide in the affairs of men which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves. Or lose our ventures." — William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar

  16. What if we win?

What if the children go to schools unafraid of tear gas and bullets?

What if the birds come back, and the bees are healed, and every species moves from endangered, to threatened, to thriving?

    What if the rainforest ADVANCES?

What if every parking lot had solar panels? What if every structure had solar panels? What if we built climbing gyms and terraced gardens in the skeletons of old coal power plants?

  24. Picture: the stuff of nightmares - the ‘hockey stick’ in energy consumption and in atmospheric CO2 concentration, just in the past 100 years. All the scarier as CO2 stays in the atmosphere for 300 to 1,000 years, so its effect is cumulative over time...

  25. I’m literally learning something new EVERY DAY on #Mastodon. And it’s so much solid good stuff, not that there wasn’t much in the best days of #twitter, but the balance and breadth of interests here feels currently much less competitive, more open, in more relaxed ways welcoming and so far less intensely judgemental. YMMV.
Breathing more easily, constant stress reduced just a bit. #climatechangeisanemergency still the focus, but with #ClimateChangeAction in varied forms an activated component
