But Labor's recent electoral "reforms" are worrying: lowering the disclosure threshold to $5k is progress, yet the new $50k donation caps (and spending limits) are slammed by independents as a stitch-up that protects the big parties + their corporate backers, while starving new challengers.
Bottom line: without real-time transparency, truly low caps, and bans on corporate/fossil fuel cash, our elections stay auctions for the highest bidder — not democracy for the people.
