my friends have made pings that make me do certain actions in vc (howling/meowing), i think this is some form of clicker training…

Since I do clicker training with Shinjuku every evening she now expects it to happen and has even started to wait for me on the box where we start if I don’t call her.

My left hand works pretty well, but my right hand, aka the magic hand or the hand of doom, is spastic and unpredictable and I can't really make it do what I want half the time. So far, the majority of Callisto's retrieves have been to my left side and today during our #ClickerTraining lesson I set us up so Phee was blocking access to my left side and Callisto would have to walk around Phee or lean over her to give me the object, or she could just deliver it to my right hand which was closer. +

Today is #Caturday. I had four 5:00 minute #ClickerTraining sessions to learn to hop up onto my new shelf near the kitchen door, instead of guarding or dashing. I get a *click* n treat when I go "up". I get another when I go up and "wait" for mom to go through n back out, rather than dashing in.

@666k9s You probably heard of clicker training? Of course you have.... But it also works well with cats!

How about clicker training with Daisy and Betty? You need a baby gate for separation, lots of treats for both, and patience. Aim is to connect sth. positive i.e. a treat with the other animal. "Ack, she cant be that bad, if I get a treat whenever seeing her..."

This morning I worked on retrieves with Callisto and she understands that she needs to tap my leg with the object in her mouth once she has returned with it in order for me to know she's there. We are having some struggles because my spastic/non cooperative hands frequently drop the object because Callisto doesn't give me time to get a good grip before she releases. So I am putting the release on cue and she is learning to wait until the "give" cue before releasing. #serviceDog #ClickerTraining

For #wedsneigh a video of one of our boarder’s #horses, a beautiful Gypsy Drum named Tinkerbelle, learning good manners around food. She starts out very pushy and muggy with her owner, but by day 3 she’s learned to stand politely and wait to hear the marker. We used a brief, emphatic “t” as a marker, instead of a clicker, since her owner prefers a verbal marker to a clicker. This was especially important for Tinkerbelle to learn because her owner isn’t strong. Good manners around food is the first lesson we teach horses as we begin using #positiveReinforcement training! #clickerTraining
