My "Princess Diana" clematis finally pushed out a flower! I didn't have much hope for flowers because I planted in the shade (I was out of sunny garden spots), but there it is! There's also one flower bud that hasn't opened yet. Meanwhile,my "Duchess of Edinburgh" clematis is still not doing anything. I think that one might need relocating to a sunny-ish spot.

I love Clematis x triternata 'Rubromarginata'. The flowers are quite small but very pretty, and there are lots of them, and they have the most amazing almond scent which fills the whole area on a still day. This Clematis likes well-drained soil and has so far coped very well with the hot and dry weather. #plants #clematis #garden

I originally planted three different cultivars of clematis to climb on this tower but only two survived: Clematis "Jackmanii" and "The President". I'm not sure which one is which lol. I think the one with the smaller, darker purple flowers is Jackmanii, but I could be wrong.

I planted a clematis grandiflora about seven years ago. It completely vanished, as so many of my clematis do, but this year it finally decided it had established its rootstock. This is amazing! With my hand (a fairly small hand but still) for scale.
