  2. Vietnam allows big companies to buy clean energy directly to meet their #climate targets

"#Vietnam's move addresses investors' concerns about access to stable and clean energy. That's a priority for a country seen as a promising alternative for businesses looking to diversify supply chains outside China.

Liberalizing the market also is expected to spur more construction of new solar and wind farms by guaranteeing a market for #CleanElectricity, analysts say."

  3. "The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), in collaboration with the Department of Defense (DoD), is seeking suppliers that could provide federal facilities in several mid-Atlantic and Midwest states with 100% carbon pollution-free electricity (CFE) by 2030. The #CleanElectricity procurement - slated for later this year - would be one of the federal government’s largest-ever clean electricity purchases. "

  4. Are you familiar with the bill @SeanCasten introduced this week to accelerate clean electricity transmission, @jgkoomey ? If you are familiar, I'd love to hear your thoughts about the bill.

  5. "#Michigan Gov. Gretchen #Whitmer is set to sign a package of bills that would transition the state to 100 percent #CleanElectricity by 2040. The bills include robust provisions for workers & are among the most ambitious efforts undertaken by any state to move toward a carbon-free future in a manner that is actively good for working people. Significantly, Democrats are testing this approach in a swing state in the heart of the industrial Midwest."

  6. “There's a stick and a carrot … the provinces that are objecting, they don't want the stick, they just want the carrot. But I don't see how Canada will meet its goals only with carrots because we know the provincial government could be authorizing electricity generation that is inconsistent with the goal at the same time as they're making some good investments,” - my UBC colleague Dr. Kathy Harrison is spot on here.

  7. The 2035 Offshore Wind Report shows US has 1 of world’s best offshore wind potentials, enough to power up to 5% in 2035 and 25% of America’s total power needs in 2050 with this abundant clean energy. Progress in the next decade is critical to build out the U.S. offshore wind supply chain. 2035report.com/offshorewind/ #EndFossilFuels #FossilFuels #RewableEnergy #ClimateCrisis #OffshoreWind #CleanElectricity #energy #cleanenergy #electricity

  9. An #introduction:

I write for The Energy Mix, a small climate news website, where I cover how #agriculture, #cleanelectricity, and #nationalsecurity intersect with #climatechange.

I previously spent many years farming--mostly raising #sheep--before doing ag policy research and outreach. I am particularly interested in addressing the social and financial barriers that hold farmers back from transitioning to more sustainable farming practices.

I look forward to connecting with you here!
