Just an incredible morning yesterday… by 6am, we were on a boat into Clayoquot Sound. We saw 4 black bears on beaches hunting for shellfish, a “raft” of about 300 sea otters, 4 bald eagles hunting for salmon, and a pod of harbour porpoises. Overwhelmingly grateful to our guide and naturalist “Captain Eugene” at Ahous Adventures in Tofino. #TofinoBC #VancouverIsland #VancouverIslandWildlife #ClayoquotSound

An enormous #OldGrowth #cedar #tree has been identified in #VancouverIsland ’s #ClayoquotSound possibly dating back over a millennium. The western #RedCedar reaches a towering height of 46 metres and stands five metres wide at its base.
It is currently the sixth largest redcedar in #Canada - according to the #BCBigTreeRegistry 🌲
