It's call Flohmarkt (German for Flea market) and describes itself as 'A decentral federated small ad posting platform'

Seems you can make it so that sellers register via a free account providing email address.. and then buyers can make enquiries in what is a form of activity pub mastodon post called 'notes', seems to essentially support private messaging from interested folks back to the seller.

It's possible to boost/share item posts in mastodon too.

Is there any #Fediverse or #ActivityPub development underway for classified advertising?

I've proposed reviving #WantAds as a revenue source for #LocalNewsMedia, particularly as online commerce becomes difficult for small business and riskier for customers. See the white paper on TechNewsLit.com: https://technewslit.com/explores/explores20240511.html

The Fediverse seems a good fit for #ClassifiedAds as an open-source backbone and ability to federate into regional networks.

Ideas welcome.

2/2 But this series (and the idea itself) is far, far low-key compared to CRED's earlier envelope-pushing communication that is usually high-profile either in the use of stars (albeit ones that are not currently 'hot' and are relatively 'cheaper') or media (TV-first).

I really wonder how this series is working for them - an old-world (print, classified) media to promote an in-app, digital bidding game.
