  1. RLPO/Manze review – all-British Prom features fiery theatrics and cheeky subversion

  2. On deck on a beautiful Saturday evening digging into some of the CDs I have “inherited” from my mother who’s been sorting through my late father’s things as preparations continue to sell the house the folks bought in July of 1972 (where I spent my “formative years”) and my mom, at a spry nearly 89 years old, is on a list for senior living. End of life shit sucks. Still, can’t really go wrong with Franz Josef Haydn.

  5. I'm having a brain glitch: what do you call a classically trained "operatic" soprano whose career is more in concert work - oratorio, choral solos, art song / lieder, recitals, etc ?? I want to just say "concert soprano" but is that going to translate to the illiterate masses?
