Never got a chance to perform this as cellist but holy shit would I love to do that even tho cello isn’t a big part of it.
Saw the Los Angeles Philharmonic perform this live once and it was life-altering. I could feel the horns’ wind blasting me in the face from the cheap seats which was all I could afford then. Very wow.
Cellists be like “fine, here's some background, wake me up when it gets fun.”
Also also: conductors are mostly-useless celebrity props. We know how to play this stuff. Fuck off, go twirl your little stick and collect your paycheck while we do the work. I mean look at this asshole… nobody is paying attention to him while he dances around.

当初はリコーダー奏者として名を馳せたブリュッヘンだが、18世紀オーケストラを編成した頃からは指揮者としての活動の方がメインになった様だ。
