  5. @walkhighlands I remember taking a walk on #claphamcommon in #london after the October 1987 storm. Some very big trees were down. I heard someone say "It's absolutely ridiculous. This is the twentieth century, for god's sake!"

  6. Regarding #ClaphamJunction, #ClaphamCommon, #ClaphamNorth and #ClaphamSouth, early records call it “Cloppaham” and “Clopeham”. “Ham” means “homestead”. “Clopp” means “near a hill”. In medieval times, Clapham was tiny, but it grew after the plague (1665) and the great fire (1666).
