Clan Jade Falcon force for Scouring Sands done. I've enjoyed painting them so much that I'm tempted to leapfrog the next batch to work on this week, but Conquest is calling my name. (The green is more olive tones IRL. I've not figured out getting colours more accurate since I've gone back to this phone, but they still look pretty decent... just less garish)

I went to the #IPMSVictoria model show today and entered my #ClanJadeFalcon snow diorama and some stand alone #BattleTech minis. No one else entered in the "Gaming Figure Diorama" category and I won by default. Not the glorious victory the Falcons deserve, but I'll take it.
I'm signing up for a PixelFed account and I'll post some more photos there rather than inundating Mastodon 4 at a time. I'll boost it on this account if you're interested.

I've been working on a little #diorama to display some of my #ClanJadeFalcon units. Some dust got into the speed paint so there are some defects I need to cover up, and I dropped it which damaged it near the rear squad of elementals. I've patched it up with putty and sanded the side reasonably smooth but it still needs to be repainted. It also needs a bit more mica flake to make the snow glitter. I may also dry brush a bit of mica flake on the trees.

Clan Jade Falcon, Gamma Galxy vs Clan Smoke Jaguar, Psi Galaxy (I think, based on grey with blue highlights) Despite the aggressive crusader Clans, the wall slowed down the game a bit initially. Also the Jaguars were having some equipment trouble (using the wrong side of the tape measure).

My reinforcements for #ClanJadeFalcon Gamma Galaxy are finished. I now have a trinary with infantry support.

The elementals are based and their bases have stripes. The front and back faces are all glossed and ready for applying 45 decals to finish things off.
The elementals didn't fit as nicely onto the bases as I'd hoped. I used one set from one base to make all of the indentations on all the bases and the paint also made their feet bigger, and their footprints smaller. Still, I got them in place.

Started on the stripes for the front face. The elementals have had an oil wash and the bases are speedpainted, shimmered, and edged. The frosty shimmer on the snow is a fine white mica flake mixed with matte varnish. I've applied it to the mech bases as well. It doesn't show too well in photos but in person it gives a nice shimmery sparkle that feels in scale.

Mounted on their bases. Still need to do the decals and other details on the base edges. I can't find my masking tape so I need to get more to do the stripes on the front.

Some paint scratches, weapon effects, and cockpits. Just need to add the mud and snow to the feet.

I wasn't happy with the green bits so I glazed and edge highlighted with jade green. Then glossed, decals, more gloss, and then did an oil wash, unfortunately I didn't put enough varnish over the decals and wrecked some of them that I had to replace.
The oil wash was with Van Dyke Brown which turned out nicer than the mix of Lamp Black and Burnt Umber I used for the first batch.

Metallic and jade green highlights added and washed. Added a few coats of gloss varnish to get ready for decals. I think I'll stick with gloss as a base for the oil wash to try to keep it from darkening them too much like happened with the first star.

4 colour winter camo scheme complete. I brushed on the Runic Grey stripes with a #2 brush this time instead of stippling with a coarse brush

Should have used white primer instead of grey to reduce the number of coats of white I'd need.
Speed painted, touched up, and dry brushed.

Sculpted the snow drift bases for the second and third stars of my #ClanJadeFalcon trinary. The minis are all articulated and mostly cleaned up. I decided to get the bases sculpted before starting to paint the minis this time. Cleaning the clay off their feet didn't damage the paint last time, but it's better not to risk it.

Next batch of #Battletech minis starting prep (torso articulation and cleaning up mould lines and defects) Two stars to join #ClanJadeFalcon Gamma Galaxy bringing my forces up to a Trinary.
My plan is to do a Turkina, Blood Asp, Timber Wolf, Summoner, Mad Dog, Hellbringer, Viper, Storm Crow, Cougar, and Fire Falcon
I'll also do a star of Elementals.

Proper photos of the three Jade Falcons, had also taken some comparison shots of these and the IWM minis I had painted 15-20 years ago :D

#AlphaStrike game at #GauntletGames 250 PV #ClanJadeFalcon against #WolfsDragoons (unpainted) The green Marauder is standing in for a second Annihilator for the Dragoons. No scenario just kill or be killed, scored with PV. The Facons had a narrow win.

Got my brother to play #AlphaStrike for the first time. No objectives just stomping each other. He took a star of #ClanJadeFalcon and took the #TaurianConcordat. An objective with a turn limit would probably have been a better idea as this really went long. Terrain was a small city between two forested hills. The Taurians took the city early on while the Falcons took up positions in the hills.
