CK Hutchison said the sale was part of a bigger deal in which a consortium led by #US group #Blackrock Inc. would acquire an 80% interest in its units that owned, operated & developed 43 other ports in 23 countries.
#CKHutchison had held 90% control of the #Panama Ports Company, which owns & operates the ports of Balboa & Cristobal on either end of the #PanamaCanal. Companies from the #UnitedStates, Taiwan & Singapore operate other ports at the canal.
