C.J. Box tapped into shows focused on the rodeo, fly fishing, hunting, & other outdoor western subjects. Young men with fishing caps & long beards began to show up at his book signings, many telling him that they hadn’t been to a bookstore in years.

Robert Parker created P.I. Sunny Randall to be played by Helen Hunt in movies that didn't come to fruition. I suppose there's always a chance they could be made now. I'd cast Katheryn Winnick as Sunny. She recently played a P.I. in the TV adaptation of C.J. Box's novels, Big Sky.
