Currently there *is* no legitimate, i.e. functional, judicial response. The law means nothing to fascists. We're way to late for the law to force the fascists from power. That leaves us with two choices, #GeneralStrike or #CivilWarII. I vote for general strike. Civil War II would be a blood bath. The world would pick our bones and we'd deserve it.

So, who’s gonna make the #Wikipedia article for #CivilWarII?

#CivilWarII
Anyone who believes that #neoNazis, #WhiteSupremacists, and #MAGAts are the only people in America who own guns and know how to use them, has been seriously misinformed. We just don't wave them around at demos, that's all. But we *are* ready to defend ourselves. -
#Trump's #Republican party is stupidly trying to start a #CivilWarII between #FascistGOP Red States & #Democrat Blue States, but nearly all Red States are dependent on Blue State tax revenue. What happens when Blue States end their government handouts to Red Welfare States because of the inept mishandling by Trump's corrupt federal administration? Think any Republicans can pull themselves up by their bootstraps without socialism supporting their decades of fiscally irresponsible mismanagement? 😂

You're forgetting about the civilians.
#CivilWarII wouldn't be fought between states or regions. It would be fought between neighbors. It would be a bloodbath. It would also be America's national suicide. The world would pick our bones and we'd deserve it. A lot of people think we deserve it already.

We can learn from what's happening in Bangladesh. Just driving the fascists from office is not enough. They must be driven from society. It's easier said than done.
Bangladesh is as deeply a patriarchal society as America is a deeply racist one. These are impediments that can be surmounted. Anti-fascism is for everybody, no matter what their spiritual deficiencies or how much they disagree with each other about other things. We only need to agree on this one thing: fascism is a threat to all of us.
My personal observation and experience has shown me that a lot of anti-fascists actually hate each other. That's OK. We choose our friends, but history chooses our allies.
I myself have fought the cops alongside the RCP. I *hate* the RCP and everything they stand for save one. We both hate fascists.
At the "shantytown" anti-apartheid demo on UCB campus in 1986, I suddenly found myself flat on my back, about to get my head split by a UC cop's club when an RCP woman put a chopsocky move on the cop, knocking him down and perhaps out. I didn't stick around to find out or even to thank her. I got on the good foot and made my escape. I wouldn't be here telling you this story if it wasn't for her. I still don't like the RCP one bit, but that night I put it on hold. Yeah, it *can* be done. If I can do it, so can any anti-fascist.
So when I saw Hindus, Muslims, and secularists unite, at considerable risk to their lives, to drive Sheikh Hasina into exile, I was greatly encouraged. They're not done getting rid of fascism at the local level yet, and they still may fail, but they're trying hard.
I find Nahid Islam's condemnation of, and plans to eliminate, "pro-fascist culture" to be particularly relevant to the struggle of America's anti-fascists. Anti-fascism is at it heart a culture war as much as it is a political one.
America has had a resilient, dynamic, virulent, grassroots, fascist movement for a century. Trump is not our problem, they are. Trump is just their current mascot. He is replaceable.
It won't be enough to drive Trump into exile. We have to deal with the grassroots fascists. Both we and they are armed to the teeth. This is America. We have more guns than people. A shooting war to settle our political problem would be a disaster.
#CivilWarII wouldn't be fought between states or regions. It would be fought between neighbors. It would be a bloodbath. It would also be America's national suicide. The world would pick our bones and we'd deserve it. A lot of people think we deserve it already.
So when I saw Bangladeshis collectively decide to talk it out instead instead of killing each other,
I was particularly encouraged. I still am. If they can do it, so can we.
But I don't know how. I sure hope somebody does. It's getting late. -
He was elected. That makes him a politician by definition. He's not a fascist dictator yet, but he's working on it. He can still be stopped. There are two ways to do it. One is a nonviolent #GeneralStrike. The other is #CivilWarII. It wouldn't be fought between states or regions. It would be fought between neighbors. It would be a bloodbath. It would also be America's national suicide. The world would pick our bones and we'd deserve it. A lot of people think we deserve it already. I do. This country is an embarrassment, a disappointment, and menace to itself and others.

#CivilWarII is escalating quickly of late. Are we ready for what that means?

"Minnesota lawmaker Melissa Hortman killed, State Sen. John Hoffman wounded in 'targeted political violence'
A list of other possible targets was retrieved from the suspect’s vehicle, authorities said. The list named Hortman and Hoffman, police noted.
The list included dozens of other Democrats from Minnesota, including Gov. Walz, Rep. Ilhan Omar, Sen. Tina Smith and Attorney General Keith Ellison, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the matter.
Law enforcement officials are looking into whether the suspect may have been motivated by extreme views on abortion, the sources said."

@andytiedye @JessTheUnstill @CordiallyChloe
(1.) Nobody would win #CivilWarII.
(2.) The USAF took the same oath as the rest of the military. It's not to Trump. It's to the constitution. Anyone in any of America's military who backs Trump over the Constitution would be breaking that oath. How do you suppose the rest of the military would feel about them?
Hint: Look up "fragging"
(3.) In all civil wars the military splits. You're slandering soldiers to suggest any US military would not do the same.
(4.) The enlisted ranks are overwhelmingly working class. Do you really believe they'd slaughter their families and neighbors wholesale just to please the Orange Turd?
(5.) Cities are a *lot* easier to defend than the countryside. See:

I don't want to fight them either. I'm too old and disabled to soldier. I'm even too old and disabled to riot. But aside from my personal situation, I think #CivilWarII is a really bad idea for all of us, even if we win, which we would. The weight of numbers would decide the matter, but our blood and treasure would be gone forever.
Nevertheless, we should be prepared for any contingency.
Anyone who believes that #neoNazis, #WhiteSupremacists, and #MAGAts are the only people in America who own guns and know how to use them, is deeply deluded. We just don't wave them around at demos, that's all. But we *are* ready to defend ourselves.

Not all cowards are bullies, but all bullies are cowards. Fascists have a long history of retreat from superior numbers. Let's make the "No Kings Day" demos show them how many of us there are. If there are enough of us it will send a chill down their spines.

Chat, is this what democracy looks like, or is this #CivilWarII?

It would take a war. We should avoid that.

There is a basic flaw in Dandy Andy's analysis of anarchists and anarchism in general. No, anarchists are not part of the "far left". Both "left" and "right", are styles of government. Anarchism is diametrically opposed to *any* style of government. We don't fit in the spectrum of binary political analysis. Personally, I prefer to think of us the forefront of the labor movement. Unlike the left, both near and far, we have moved beyond advocating for collaborationist "unions". It's like advocating for politicians to represent us. Politicians and union bureaucrats don't represent the working class. With very few exceptions, modern unions are essentially labor brokers. They represent their own narrow interest. What is in their own interest is a more favorable relationship between the capitalists and their own narrow (paying) membership. It keeps labor on the job. Que bono?
Anarchists do not advocate for better relationships with the capitalists. Anarchists advocate the abolition of capitalists. In its place, anarchists advocate for, and as far as possible practice, #LibertarianSocialism, i.e. worker self-owned, worker self-managed workplaces, federated with each other by the basic anarchist principles: sharing, cooperation, solidarity, mutual aid, and direct action. So-called "better representatives" are neither wanted nor necessary. We represent ourselves. This is antithetical to the core basics of leftism. They want to get rid of the bosses. They don't want to get rid of bossism. They want the boss's job. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
Self-professed "leftists" have repeatedly slaughtered us wholesale and stacked our bodies in pits. It's time we learned our lesson. Leftists are not our friends. As allies they are unreliable. The only thing they ever do that benefits anarchists is swell the crowd at anti-fascist demos. In a real fight, they are only useful as the very cannon fodder for which they have used anarchists for a century. It would greatly behoove us to avoid having real fight with the fascists. #CivilWarII wouldn't be fought between states or regions. It would be fought between neighbors. It would be a bloodbath. It would also be America's national suicide. The world would pick our bones and we'd deserve it. A lot of people think we deserve it already.
Since we want peace, we must prepare for war. The fascists are planning to kill us in a bloody civil war. They are armed and dangerous. They're organizing, even as we speak. They have friends in high places. They have lawyers, guns and money. We'd damned well better be ready to deal with them if they ever work up enough nerve to attack. We'd better not planning to be cannon fodder for the left, either. The left would sell us out. Again. For sure. History is very clear on this point.
Does anyone sane still think we should disarm ourselves? Just wondering, not trying to incite any untoward behavior.

We're a violent people. We kill each other every day. Almost all killings, and the overwhelming number of crimes in general, are gotten away with.
What citizens do not have is a monopoly on the use of violence. That's (theoretically) the purview of the state. The most violent among us are the agents of the state, the police themselves. Google "40% of cops"
Their irregular auxiliaries, the grassroots fascist paramilitaries are a paper tiger. They're out numbered, out gunned and surrounded. They also tend strongly to cowardice. At public demos, without support from the police, they always retreat.
Should #CivilWarII will break out it would be a disaster for all concerned. No sane and sensible people want that, but if the fascists insist, we're going to have to deal with them. An once of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

@flacs @whitequark As well as Minority Report, this was also the plot of #MarvelComics' #CivilWarII mega-crossover, which only happened because every single character became a complete idiot.
It's also standard practice Mega-City One's Justice Department, because everybody who reads or hears about #JudgeDredd apparently thinks it's advice and not a warning.
