(1.) I take it that you assume there will even *be* midterm elections and they wil be fair and honest. That would be better than what’s more likely to happen.
(2.) Th state is not the government. The state is a tool of the government and not their only one.. The government, the *real* government is the oligarchs, the banks, the hedge funds, the military-industrial complex, the insurance industry, big oil, big pharma, the corporate mediia, organized religion, and organized crime. They, not politicians, are our real rulers, the entities that make the decisions that people obey. The state is merely their facilitator.
(3.) Don’t appeal to politicians’ better nature. They have none. They say they do, but it’s class-A lies. Writing to them is a waste of time. They don’t represent us. They represent their donors. How many millions did *you* donate? None? Then your hopes and fears aren’t even on their radar. Don’t beg them, to attend to our fates, force them. #GeneralStrike, start today. It’s our only hope for a peaceful transition to a fair and sustainable economy.
(4.) The only alternative is violence. We realy don’t want that. #CivilWar2 wouldn't be fought between states or regions. It would be fought between neighbors. It would be a bloodbath. Sooner or later ICE goonsll swarm your own city. Minneapolis has shown us all how to resist wheen that happens. They made it up on the fly. The rest of us don't have to. We can learn from Minneapolis. We can organize in advance. Flooding the streets with protestors is not enough. Neither is being gunned down in cold blood on TV. We need to be able to feed those who can't leave their homes to shop for fear of being nabbed by ICE, just like the people who fed Anne Frank and her family shopped when they couldn't go outside to shop for feaar of being nabbed by Nazis.
These people are called "helpers" (in Spanish, "ayudanderos". Minneapolis has showed us the way. It *can* be done.
Setting up networks of helpers in advance is as simple as setting up phone trees was back in they day, easier actually. Call your friends. Start with neighbors, parents, PTA members, and churche members. Get a committment from whoever is willing to help. Organize. Make plans. Stockpile food, medical supplies, etc. in advance. Divide up areas of responsibility geographically so there's no redundance and everywhere gets covered. Set up a fundraising campaign. Stockpile food, medical supplies, etc.
There is no need for a single organization to oversee the distros. Anyone can set up an autonomous crew. We need two, three, many autonomous distros. That's what phones are for.
If ICE follows you, don't lead them to their intended victims. Lead them in circles. Waste thier time. If they pull you over don't physically resist. Save your righteous anger for later. There *will* be a later. Nuremberg style trials *will* be held. They'll all be legal. As much as the ICE goons morally deserve to be cruelly lynched, don't do it. The last thing Ameicans need to do is to start killing each other en masse again. It would get out of hand rather quickly. #CivilWar2 wouldn't be fought between states or regions. That’s framed all wrong.
A fascist tyrant can kidnap a foreign leader and we can’t do anything about it because he has at least 40 co-conspirators in the senate to protect him and we threw out the constitution.
Until people realize our country is broken we can’t even start to fix it.

"Verge"? Americans have already begun shooting each other. So far it's skirmish level, assassinations and masked thugs grabbing people off the streets, mass purges, economic warfare on (some) cities, spreading surveillance, etc.
If we don't get a handle on this insanity soon, sooner than we think, Americans will be killing each other wholesale. Again.
Like WWI, America's Civil War didn't end. It morphed into something else for a while then flared up again worse than the first time. At this present moment in history, the flare up has already begun. This year fairly stinks of 1858-9 redux. Our first civil war, remember, didn't start at Bull Run/Manassas. It can easily be seen as having started at Harper's Ferry, Virginia A case can be be made that it started in "Bleeding Kansas" with the sacking of Lawrence by pro-slavery forces on May 21, 1856 and the counter attack three nights later by abolitionist "terrorists" led by John Brown.
A case can be made that while white supremacists have been chipping away since the Compromise of 1877, the current flare up was sparked by the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, from August 11 to 12, 2017.

Elections are political theater, a mass mind control op whose purpose is to convince us that we have a say in how we are ruled. We don't. The US is not a democracy, it's an oligarchy. Oligarchs rule us. Politicians are their puppets. The Supreme Court is bought and paid for. Law enforcement is bought and paid for. They're *all* bought and paid for. The system itself is corrupt. A choice between puppets is no choice at all.
If we really want to see positive changes in how society works we're going to have to make them ourselves with our own hands, from the ground up.
There are two ways to do this, violently or nonviolently. We can fight #CivilWar2 or we can stage a #GeneralStrike.
I favor the latter. Let's start small. A single day sick-in would be an excellent show of force. Then we could escalate to one day per work week actions. We could call them "Moral Mondays". Or something. We'll think of a name.
Just a suggestion.

@bluevelvet321 full blown #civilwar2 would destroy the US, possibly permanently. This would be great for other countries that have been oppressed for decades, and a net gain for justice around the world. This isn't really what the fascists want, they want to push us right up to the line, but not cross it. They know they have lost every full scale war they have ever fought because the vast majority of humans hate them with a passion.
