A Ficus vastra tree in Valencia's Jardín del Turia. Tremendous shade providers, and amazing to look at with their mangrove-like buttress roots...

Apparently native to the Horn of Africa...

Urban Geometry at Night

The brutalist architecture of Bishop Lucey Park seems to suit black and white night shots. This was only my first time trying to photograph it in such a way but I’ll try again.

I don’t think I understand this issue at all. Usually in my city, Seattle, we don’t have enough parks, and developers have demolished decrepit public housing to rebuild while displacing the community that lived there. Eric Adams is an untrustworthy narrator here; so I hope Hyperallergic keeps reporting.

Took my buddy over to Inspiration Point Park yesterday. We'd never been before. It was small, but nice and tranquil with great views of the mountains and enough trees to forget you're still in the city of Denver.

A lot's going on out there! Let's take a breather, yeah? 😌

Saw a cool grey heron at the park today. Just standing there, calm and tall. It’s nice to find a bit of nature in the city. #GreyHeron #ParkLife #ChillVibes #NatureLovers #CityParks #BirdWatching #WildlifePhotography #NaturePhotography #PeacefulPlaces #UrbanNature #InstaNature #SimplePleasures #photomay2024

SHADED PARK BENCHES
Patterns of sun and shade play among the trees and grass in a city park. Couples rest on benches while a band warms up on a festival stage. This is a study in composition, texture and color using photo apps. #BuyIntoArt #GalleryDesMoines #Iowa #CityParks #outdoors #textures #trees

Views like this keep me sane. I live in a city, and this is the view from a local park, over tree-lined streets, the river valley, other green spaces, and out into the countryside.

These views are so important, and I believe they should be designed and protected in all town plans. They allow me to connect with something wider, and escape into nature just a 5 minute walk away from home.

I’m a former captain of industry, founding and selling business media companies. Now I found and support nonprofits in #rhodeisland mostly related to #books , #womensrights #transrights and #flowers because #feminism , joy and magic matter.

I love #cityparks , #libraries , #realestate and my adopted hometown of #providence #PVD but nothing’s better than lounging on a green velvet sofa with a good SF or romance book and a cat.
