🌳 Oh, the monumental quest to find New York's next leafy skyscraper! Because, clearly, in a city with rent-controlled rats and subway waterfalls, the urgent matter is to crown the king of the trees. 🌲👍 Let's hope #LiDAR is as excited about this as we are! 🙄

…symbiosis | it’s alive | revenge of the trees_

I had to think of a scifi book I read many years ago about a planet where all living beings slowely but inevitably turned into trees. I still haven’t figured out if this was such a bad thing🌲🌴🌳💚…

A Crack in the Pavement is an Ecosystem
Lower the bar. You don't need a national park to be an explorer. A crack in the pavement is an entire ecosystem to a 4-year-old. Take the pressure off yourself.

Another nice story before I head outside to make my own.

The first photo is of the author checking out some speedwell and I think the first flower I took a photo off last week was a tiny Germander Speedwell flowering earlier than it's country cousins by a garden wall in Wolverhampton.

There is a lot to be said for a slow walk in the urban jungle :)

I was supposed to be cooking tea tonight, but I kept on getting distracted by two amorous pigeons making out on top of my garden fence.

It’s weird, because I’m in my mid 40’s and this is the first time I’ve spotted birds doing this…and they did go further, but I wanted to spare their blushes!

Admittedly, I’ve spent almost all my adult life living in cities…but it was a nice reminder of nature carrying on regardless of human activity, on my doorstep (or fence).

Some #photos from my husband this morning at #BroughtyFerry #seafront and the #RiverTay in eastern #Dundee, #Scotland. He took many more pictures of the #heron especially, which was guzzling fish, an eel (very long process!) and crab.
