Another day gone with no contact from (or means to make contact with) #TheOneBroadband seems like the #Octaplus handover is as borked as ever. My (paid extra for) fixed IP is gone and the quality of the connection this afternoon has been sub-optimal.
Anyone got any tips for a cost conscious UK ISP on #CityFibre that will provide a fixed IP also?

Some vaguely good news.
My fibre broadband is supplied by Lit Fibre via CityFibre.
Lit Fibre are transferring all their customers to Zen Internet. While I've had no major issues with Lit, the support has been mediocre, and their supplied equipment is, frankly, pants.
Zen have an excellent reputation, so this might be a longer term relationship than I anticipated.

Pleased to see that #toob / #cityfibre have updated their rollout map (I’m on it!), and they’re pulling fibre on my street at the moment. I’ll finally be able to wave goodbye to vermin media, and get 5x the speed for a third of what I’m currently paying 😎

The section I’ve circled in red is where #cityFibre are currently digging up the road/pavement. And #westernPower have underground cable problems. Smoking gun or just coinkydink? 🤔😀 #powercut

I notice that #CityFibre have a post code checker on their website (which gives varying results for different addresses in my postcode). They're digging all around our area at the moment.
Has anyone scraped the data and built a map so I can see at a glance what state different locations are in, rather than having to enter loads of different addresses?

@yassie_j Keep a lookout for #cityfibre in your area.
They are a lot more reasonably priced.
...however, they only seem to turn up with 70m of fibre cable so they couldn't route the cable the same way as the old copper connection (that was managing 70down 20up easily)... <sigh> and they had to route it through a tree... #nothappy
It's not like fibre's expensive these days.... -
Literally the only time the fella ever gets up before midday on vacation .. #cityfibre #giganet installation day! Hopefully today we go from 250Mb/25Mb to 900Mb asynchronous while saving £50 per month in the process 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
