.. these photos are from the poorest, most deprived estate in the country, from the town which according to the mainstream press is in the grip of a 'terrorist siege' by organised crime who allegedly murdered several young men followed by family members in retaliation plus 2 cops this last week.
they haven't bothered to get into why young ppl get into organised crime, just blame & shame them, throw them in prison & forget about the consequences. oh & march in 200 police to pretend the system is doing something, but never actually deal with the cause cause that would mean admitting the system is the culprit with the ppl in power.

Of the perverse effect of #generativeAI: complete loss of #trust on everything you see, sunk time verifying every piece of #socialmedia #news, and the death of #citizenjournalism.
I still don't know whether this picture is AI generated. I wasted time finding the source, only to wonder if SyriaNow is actually linked to #AlJazeera or not.
Basically being exhausted now, I have the impression #AI killed the ability for people to organise & fight back by poisoning both #media structure & #content. -
