This septarian nodule was found along the Crow River in central Minnesota on a gravel bar. Horse specimens for us are second only to Bison bison finds. It's #Minnesota #MammothMonday 🦣🦬🦥 Continuing to share some hometown, New Ulm, MN history. Below is a mammoth 🦷 which was found in 1912 during street construction, a 2nd 🦷 was found in 1929 (Specimen No. 3991 http://umn.edu collection), and in 2020 a mammoth hip and tusk! - see my previous #MammothMonday post. The 🦷 below is housed at the Brown County Historical Society.
